The simplest way to try a botanical tank. Six different botanicals to find the tint and look you like.
Description
Start your sunken forest here. Catappa leaves bring the classic amber tint, and two more leaf types add their own character: cacao leaves collected here in Puerto Rico and mango leaves from Southeast Asia. Sterculia pods and a betel husk give fish and shrimp shelter and a surface for biofilm. A bunch of casuarina needles adds fine texture where shrimp and fry graze. That's enough to set up a 5–15 gallon tank and find the botanicals you like best.

Let the botanical become part of the system. The value is in the slow breakdown, biofilm, tannin character, habitat texture, and natural behavior it encourages. This is where sunken forests come to life.
